CFREE collaborates with nearby organizations with similar missions. Electrify Arlington helps Arlington residents, landlords, and businesses learn about emissions-limiting technologies such as insulation, heat pumps, electric vehicles, renewable electricity, and more. In March, 2025 they completed a detailed look at Commonwealth and federal incentives available to help finance the installation of these technologies. We’d like to share their overview with you.

Their document is very thorough and understandable. We have worked with Electrify Arlington in the past and found their work to be uniformly excellent. They intend to update the document as incentives change, so we include here just a link to their online document.

All parts of the document except one apply equally to Arlington and Lincoln. The one exception is section 6.A. on purchasing electricity through Arlington Community Electricity. Lincoln residents should instead refer to Lincoln Green Energy Choice at https://www.masspowerchoice.com/lincoln.

An interesting addition is Section 9, Selling Your Green Home. It provides some recent data on the financial advantages of emissions-limiting technologies when selling one’s home.

CFREE (Carbon Free Residential - Everything Electric) is a subcommittee of the Lincoln Green Energy Committee. CFREE provides guidance on how households can reduce use of fossil fuels and decrease greenhouse gas emissions to help Massachusetts meet statewide emissions limits set for 2030, 2040, and 2050. It also provides information about state and federal incentives that help reduce the cost of such changes. For guidance on such projects at your home, contact: Lincolngreencoach@gmail.com.
